wrote this in April 2020 for my office Zoom talent show. I did not win/am still at my day job. Thank you for reading.

When the Lawn Hits the Conflicts He Thinks like a King (abbrv.*)

How much yard work

Can this monster trucker do?

Can he run his chainsaw

As long as an auctioneer

Can run his ding dang mouth?

Is that leafblower

Outfitted

With an outboard motor?

How loud

Can this monster trucking yard work get?

Is it a lawnmower choir?

Are the angels’ voices chainsaws?

Are our lawns

Not all roughly

The same size?

What is taking

So monster trucking long?

Just do the lawn

And shhhh…

The truck up.

*When the Lawn Hits the Conflicts He Thinks like a King What He Knows Throws the Blows When He Goes to the Fight and He’ll Win the Whole Thing ‘fore He Enters the Ring There’s No Body to Batter When Your Mind Is Your Might so When You Go Solo, You Hold Your Own Hand and Remember That Depth Is the Greatest of Heights and If You Know Where You Stand, Then You Know Where to Land and If You Fall It Won’t Matter, Cuz You’ll Know That You’re Right
